Hills: on the crumminess of

I'm learning to run again.  About 5 years ago I was running a lot - I even ran a 5k.  And then we moved to a college campus while John did grad school, and I got out of the habit.  It's hard to be motivated to run when you are a bit on the chubby side and rather slow and you're getting passed by cute little 20 year olds and heckled by their car-driving friends.*

So now that we're away from campus, and the "little bit chubby" has become "I'm seriously not buying new clothes chubby," I'm learning to run again.  Little by little.

Problem is, now I live on the bluffs, which means that no matter where I go, there are hills.  And hills mean stretching one's hamstrings more than usual.  When one has tight hamstrings, this can be extremely uncomfortable.

Which is to say, the hamstrings - they be hurtin'. . .

*Seriously, don't heckle runners. Or walkers.  Even if you're really not heckling, but rather being encouraging.  It's uncomfortable and just plain Not Nice.
